Candles make a fab gift and there are lots of options for all budgets. They have three scents so far: Pomegranate Noir, Freesia and Pear and Lime, Basil and Mandarin. They’re €4.99 each, but can be hard to get because they’re flying out of stores. The more expensive Jo Malone range are €65, if you’re looking to splash out on mum.
Does Mum need some time for herself and claim it at bath time? Add to the relaxation with some goodies from Lush which will leave her feeling pampered. They’ve got a special Mother’s Day bundle which contains 13 of their bath bombs, soaps and gels including the gorgeous Yummy Mummy shower gel and Mum Bath Bomb. If you’re not wanting to purchase the full bundle, they’ve also got some amazing bath bombs which they can make up into a knot wrap for you.
For an all over long lasting pampering gift, Boots have an absolute bargain with the Champney’s “A Well Earned Treat” gift. It’s only €29, but contains a bundle worth over €60 of scrubs and balms to keep your mum pampered until well into Summer! Similarly, they have a gorgeous gift set from the folks at Sanctuary which as well as bath goodies contains their lovely reed diffuser and candle, for €29 also.

Love Her Every Day, Not Just Mother’s Day
If you want something that will keep her happy for the entire year, subscription boxes might be just what you need. GlossyBox is a beauty subscription box that delivers once a month for however long you want the subscription to be, with new treats for her to try. If the Mum in your life is into her makeup, this could be exactly what she’ll love.
If your mum loves nothing more than getting stuck into a good book, then the gift of reading will go down a treat! Get her a Kindle for reading on the go – you can pick up a Kindle Paperwhite in Argos for €119 at the moment or £89.99 on Amazon (roughly €103 plus delivery). If she’s already got one, then consider a voucher for her kindle books, or an Audible Subscription where she’ll be able to purchase an audiobook a month, and any further purchases are discounted.
And of course, the old favourites….
Fancy Chocolates – they’re sure to please any mum! We got these as a gift for Christmas and I can personally vouch they are delicious and from an Irish company!
Flowers – make sure to get your order into florists early – from chatting to the lovely staff in my local florists, they’re over-run so book early to avoid disappointment.
Champagne – pick up a bottle of bubbly to celebrate the woman who brought you into this world.
Time With You – if possible, make the time for your Mammy this Mother’s Day. (Unless you’re a toddler. Then the gift of babysitting is likely MUCH appreciated).
A lie in…… this one doesn’t need explaining.
