November, November…

So November is among us. Last night, Cork (and numerous other places, likely) was filled with people dressed in an array of costumes, scary and not scary (Kudos to the couple going around dressed as Mary Poppins and Dick Van Dyke the chimney sweep, loved it!) celebrating Halloween, and today the majority have woken up hungover to the sky falling. It’s officially Winter, and the great rain lords have started celebrating. Whats that about us having to pay for this stuff falling out of the sky?

With November, I’ve decided to make a few changes. I’ve been rather bold as of late with regard to the diet, fallen off the wagon and let it roll far, far away. So enough is enough, to stop my self sabotage in its tracks, I’m enacting No-Vember – no junk, no takeaways, no alcohol. I’m allowing myself my diet coke in order to maintain reasonable levels of sanity (I need the caffeine!) but apart from that, going to throw myself in gung ho and see how it goes. So, fruit as a treat… hmm. Have to go back to Weight Watchers this week and atone for my sins (yesterday alone there were cupcakes, Reeses cups and takeaway. Lost the run completely).

As well as that, I’ve decided to try NaBloPoMo. No, it’s not a new strange kind of sushi (oh, sushi, in December you will be mine…), its a project where you write a blog post every day for a month, for National Blog Posting Month. Something like National Novel Writing Month, except without the 50k word target, so a bit more achievable for me I think. Hopefully it will be full of useful, insightful posts, and less rants about the aforementioned diet, and at the end of it I can look back and say I achieved it. Heres hoping.

What are your plans for November?

  1. Good luck with the blog writing everyday I tried it in august for blogust but I didn’t last a week lol it’s tough going. I look forward to reading your posts 🙂

    1. Thank you! Yeah I’ve tried it before on another blog and failed miserably but I’ve a few ideas in mind so hoping it comes together the way I want!

  2. Woohoo! Looking forward to reading your daily thoughts. Sushi, though, really? I’m that loser who goes to the Jap restaurant and orders the cooked chicken.

    1. Thanks! You are missing out, smoked salmon and cream cheese Norimaki is amazing. Drool worthy. Try it sometime 🙂

  3. I’ve done the blog posting month thing a couple of times; it can be a great way of breaking through writer’s block.
In October I sent a letter every day. This month I’m writing 500 words a day towards my book. Sort of like NaNoWriMo but without producing a novel at the end of it.
Thanks for linking up with #WeekendBlogHop!

    1. Thank you for hosting it! I’m hoping it does break me through, its been a bit of a problem lately. Best of luck with your project!

  4. Oh fair play to you on the surge of enthusiasm for both blog and diet. I’m stodgy on both but have established my aim for November to be ‘stay awake’! Looking forward to the updates!

    1. For the diet it is necessary, I was getting too carried away with “ah just one treat won’t hurt” – that policy also got me here, so I need to step up! Best of luck with the staying awake, its a good one, I get extra help with that one from my 7 month old tyrant 😛

  5. I tried NaBloPoMo last year but didn’t manage it. My life is so hectic I can’t post everyday, same this year really! Good luck with it though!

This month will be just earning as much money as I can for Christmas to be honest. Nothing exciting lol!

Thank you for linking up with the #WeekendBlogHop
