Last week, myself and Himself had our first proper holiday together. After four years, we decided it was time for a true test of our relationship. Time to see if a week together constantly would make us kill each other or not. Happily I can say both have survived, and despite both catching THE PLAGUE, we’re all good. We headed to the city of Seattle, Washington. It was my first time to the USA, and after that week I am hopeful it won’t be my last. However, I did notice quite a few elements of our trip which did make me question our budget for the trip. There were some things we did to ensure we got the best value for our dollar. So, to pass on those tips, here’s my guide to visiting Seattle on a Budget – and it’s probably applicable for most cities in the US.

Mama needs a holiday – Wonder Week #4
So, if Google is to be believed, the last three nights in a row have been part of the fourth wonder week. We’ve hit 16 weeks old and it seems we have entered this vortex of sleepless hell, the four month sleep regression – and worse, it supposedly can last five or six weeks. We were just getting the hang of waking up once overnight, and then up at six am. I was actually getting used to being an early bird. But now its a fight to go to sleep, and worse, a fight to stay asleep. My lovely placid baby has been replaced by this screaming, angry tiny tyrant. I am not a fan.
Our Trip To Lake Hotel Killarney, Paradise Where The Sun Shone
At 12 weeks old, we deemed Eliott old enough to go spend some bonding time with his grandparents in Wexford without us. They raised three kids and got them all through secondary school, as of last week, so it felt okay trusting them with a baby who stays put when you put him down and generally quietens his screams if given a bottle. All grandparents have offered the break, so we jumped at the chance and off we went to Killarney, Co.Kerry. It was a long promised trip that we’d kinda put on the long finger when we were busy being pregnant and sleep deprived.
